How it started

Shortly after we launched GoDaddy Airo, an AI-powered experience for businesses, we identified a need for Airo to be more visible in its capabilities and potential for customers. I was pulled into a blitz project with a timeline of 3 weeks, reporting to the VP of UX and collaborating with lead designers, to map out a vision for a space dedicated to GoDaddy Airo.

Isolated AI

In its current state, Airo provides augmented value directly to the product experiences. While beneficial to an immediate journey, this creates a gap for users who knowingly want to use Airo for multiple needs - forcing them to jump from product to product to activate Airo for specific tasks.

Everything in one place

The presence of a centralized hub will create an accessible “marketplace” of business-ready content generated just for you. Easy to filter and even easier to explore, this home approach would house generated content otherwise attainable only through in-product workflows.

Refining through iterations

From sketch to hi-fidelity, our concept evolved with each iteration.

Easily Accessible

Giving Airo its own roll-up comes with its own perks; one being that Airo’s hub would be readily available from wherever you are in your venture workflow via the sidebar.

Ask Airo

The “Ask Airo” field in the banner not only informs the user of Airo’s possibilities, but also is a quick way to engage the Assistant for a more custom workflow.

Your Brand. Your Style.

Breadth and Depth.

Through an simple product switcher, you can view opportunities either for your entire venture or dive in to explore what Airo can do for just one product.

Near Star Vision for GoDaddy Airo

Fresh off the blitz, we moved straight into Near Star, a one-month initiative to test our Airo Home concept in action. We were curious to visualize a singular flow where Airo Assistant provides continuous support across changing product surfaces, mirroring the journey of a typical GoDaddy customer. This time, we designed for Eden, a fashion boutique owner.

Continuous Guidance across Surfaces

Eden, like many of our customers, will be juggling ongoing tasks and starting new workflows, across different product areas like Social, Marketing, and Commerce. I first mapped how Airo will appear across surfaces like the Dashboard, Product Pages, and focused workflows, with the addition of Airo Assistant, a small embedded chat interface.

Powered by Airo

Considering that both Airo and an Airo-dedicated space will be new to many users, we start by introducing Airo, its capabilities, and ways to access its features.

Your brand, your style

Edit mad-libs to customize the output given to you by Airo, ensuring branding and personalization unique to you and your business.

Ask Airo for anything

If you're looking for something, type it in and Airo will set you off in the right direction.

Interviews with Customers

We worked with the research team to run moderated interviews with 16 GoDaddy customers and business owners. We wanted to understand how effectively Airo integrated into their business practice. Participants described our new model as "empowering" and "comprehensive", but we found that they often underestimated Airo's capabilities.

Outcomes

Seeing undervalued potential in our concept of an "Airo Hub", we continued iterating and testing until landing on a more refined version of a home, combining GoDaddy Airo offerings with Airo Assistant into a full-screen and focused experience, called Airo.ai.
